How do you ensure optical glass quality?

Update Time:2026/6/6
A:
We build a full-process closed-loop quality control system covering raw material incoming inspection, in-process production monitoring, finished-product testing and pre-shipment recheck to guarantee consistent quality for BK7, fused silica, sapphire, ZnSe, ZnS, AR/AG/AF coated display cover glass and all custom precision optical components, complying with international industrial optical inspection standards for aerospace, medical, automotive sensor, laser and machine vision industries.

Before production, our QC team strictly audits incoming optical blank materials by checking internal bubble, impurity, raw material spectral transmittance and material uniformity, eliminating defective substrates to avoid hidden quality risks from the source. During production, every core working procedure including CNC machining, fine grinding, ultra-precision optical polishing and vacuum optical coating is tracked with real-time process inspection. Technicians spot-check dimensional tolerance, edge integrity and surface finish after each working step, timely correcting abnormal processing parameters to prevent batch defective goods.

After finishing polishing and functional coating, finished optical glass undergoes comprehensive laboratory testing with professional optical testing equipment. Key inspected items include surface scratch grade, flatness, parallelism, spectral transmittance, coating adhesion and anti-fingerprint performance for AF-coated products. High-spec parts for aerospace and infrared systems will receive extra environmental reliability tests such as temperature shock and humidity resistance to verify long-term stability under harsh working conditions.

Prior to packaging and global shipment, our final QC re-inspects appearance and specification one by one again. Any unqualified optical glass will be separated and reworked instead of being delivered. Our systematic multi-stage quality management effectively stabilizes product yield, minimizes defect rate and delivers reliable certified optical glass to worldwide OEM and ODM purchasers.
