UV-Resistant & Heat-Resistant Glass for Outdoor Applications

Jan 10,2026
Outdoor equipment and components are exposed to complex natural environments all year round, suffering from strong UV radiation, high temperature in summer, low temperature in winter and other harsh conditions, which puts forward high requirements for the performance of glass materials. Standard glass is easy to yellow, crack and degrade performance under long-term UV and high temperature exposure, while Felix Glass’s special UV-resistant and heat-resistant glass can perfectly solve these problems, providing reliable protection for outdoor products.

UV-resistant glass is specially designed to resist ultraviolet radiation. We adopt two core technologies: one is to add UV stabilizer to the glass raw material, which can absorb and block 99% of harmful UVA and UVB rays, preventing UV from penetrating the glass and damaging internal components, and also avoiding the glass itself from yellowing and brittleness due to UV radiation; the other is to coat a special UV-resistant coating on the glass surface, which forms a protective barrier on the surface, further enhancing UV blocking effect, while maintaining high visible light transmittance, ensuring the optical performance of the product.

Heat-resistant glass is mainly made of high-quality borosilicate, quartz and other materials, with extremely low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent thermal shock resistance and high temperature resistance. Ordinary glass will crack when it encounters rapid temperature changes, while our heat-resistant glass can withstand long-term high temperatures of 300°C-1100°C according to different materials, and will not deform or crack even under rapid cold and hot alternation, ensuring stable performance in high-temperature environments.

This kind of UV-resistant and heat-resistant glass has a wide range of applications in outdoor scenarios. In the field of outdoor displays and digital signage, it can prevent the screen from being damaged by UV and high temperature, keep the display clear and not yellow, and extend the service life of the display; in the solar photovoltaic industry, it is used as a solar panel cover glass, which can block UV while ensuring high light transmittance, improving solar energy conversion efficiency, and resisting high temperature and weather erosion; in automotive sensors and outdoor monitoring cameras, it protects internal optical components from UV and high temperature damage, ensuring the normal operation of sensors and cameras in all weather.

In addition, we can carry out customized deep processing on UV-resistant and heat-resistant glass according to customer needs, including cutting into different sizes and shapes, edge grinding, chamfering, strengthening treatment, and composite coating with anti-glare, anti-fingerprint and other functions, to further enhance the performance and applicability of the glass.

All Felix Glass’s UV-resistant and heat-resistant glass products have passed strict performance tests, including UV aging test, high and low temperature cycle test, thermal shock test, etc., to ensure that they can maintain stable performance in long-term outdoor use. We focus on product quality and durability, provide reliable glass solutions for outdoor equipment, reduce the failure rate and maintenance cost of products in outdoor use, and become a trusted partner for customers in the field of outdoor glass applications.
