Automotive-grade aluminosilicate glass is commonly selected when a project needs a thin cover, chemical strengthening, thermal-shock resistance, and stable coating adhesion. Soda-lime and low-iron glass remain available where the optical, mechanical, and cost targets favor those materials.

This sequence supports control of geometry, printed areas, mechanical strength, and optical surface requirements from prototype sampling through repeat production.
