Standard & Multi-Spectral CVD Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) IR Dome Optical Lens
Felix Glass ZnS infrared dome is a hemispherical spherical integrated optical protective lens, manufactured from high-purity CVD polycrystalline zinc sulfide crystal. We supply two mainstream versions: standard single long-wave infrared dome and multi-spectral visible-infrared dual-band dome, covering all outdoor infrared imaging equipment demands.
ZnS material features 0.4–14μm ultra-wide transmission range, higher hardness and superior moisture resistance compared with ZnSe crystal, greatly reducing oxidation and scratch risks in harsh rainy, dusty environments. The hemispherical dome structure acts as both sealing protective housing and weak focusing optical lens, effectively correcting infrared image distortion, and completely isolate internal infrared detector from dust, water vapor, sand and splash.
Custom multi-band AR anti-reflection coating and outer DLC hard protective coating can be deposited on inner and outer surfaces, improving infrared transmittance and further enhance surface wear resistance. Multi-spectral version supports simultaneous visible light auxiliary alignment and 8–14μm thermal imaging, while standard LWIR dome only transmits long-wave infrared to block visible stray light for pure thermal imaging effect.

Standard FAQ
1. What is the difference between standard ZnS dome and multi-spectral ZnS dome?
Standard dome only transmits 8–14μm long-wave infrared and blocks visible light, for single thermal imaging; multi-spectral dome transmits visible light + full infrared, for day-night dual-spectrum detection equipment.
2. Why choose ZnS dome instead of ZnSe dome for outdoor equipment?
ZnS has higher hardness and excellent moisture oxidation resistance, not easy to scratch or oxidize under long-term outdoor rain and dust environment; ZnSe is soft and prone to surface damage without DLC coating.
3. Can I customize dome size and coating parameters for aerospace optical pods?
Yes, we support custom hemispherical diameter, wall thickness, curvature radii, and AR+DLC composite coating optimized for single LWIR or multi-spectral dual band.
4. What equipment matches this ZnS infrared dome lens?
It fits UAV airborne photoelectric pods, vehicle night vision thermal cameras, outdoor industrial infrared monitoring equipment and aerospace infrared remote sensing assemblies.
5. Do you provide factory mass supply for CVD ZnS infrared domes?
We offer factory direct bulk supply, small trial samples and OEM customization, all ZnS domes pass full spectral transmittance and environmental stability inspection before shipment.
